annual camping trip
i culdn't let today go by without my annual bitch about horsecamping. Its that weekend again…packing up the horses, ridiculous amounts of horse items, and if you are me…ridiculous amounts of clothing. Not only am i a chronic over packer, but i am also a freeze baby. By now, you probably don't have to ask how October camping and Freeze baby fit together. So i raided my barn clothing last night and pulled out everything that had “thermal” or “fleece” in the description. I am not bringing my horse this year because being 3 with the impatience of a 3 year old, i am pretty sure Calvin being tied to a trailer for 3 days would make for a pretty miserable weekend for the both of us and probably result in some permanent mental health issues for him. So i am sharing horses. Which is fine, as long as i get to ride. I love trail riding. Ok but wheres the bitch part you ask….here it is: the weather is supposed to be in the 50's during the day and get down to a low of 30 at night. In preparation for this i have procured my parents RV, aptly nicknamed “the beast” (or, for the weekend it will be known as “Tom Cruiser”) Took some driving lessons on Tuesday, didn't crash into anything and the neighbors cheered and clapped when i backed it up on to the wheel blocks. It appears the hardest part could be properly lowering and then raising the canopy with out breaking something. So here's to hoping i am not the person in the RV driving down the road with the step hanging out the side and the cargo doors flapping open!
