Christmas
Christmas is here….and that marks being a little over half way through my maternity leave. Being off of work i thought i would have time to do so many things around the house but it hasn’t turned out that way. The “to do” list i created in August hasn’t gotten a thing checked off on it since the week before Riley was born. Poor Riley’s christmas stocking sits among my pile of unfinished knitting- maybe i will get it finished for next year…
BUT! i did manage to get all of my christmas shopping done early and am glad to avoid the mad rush. And i sent out christmas cards this year (if you are now sitting there thinking HEY! where’s mine?? don’t worry, i just put them in the mail yesterday).
After Christmas will be the time to focus on getting my to do list finished. Since Jason and I (and our three dogs and our 1 child) have outgrown our 2 bedroom house, we are hoping to put it up for sale this spring. That means finishing projects that we started when we moved it, projects we have wanted to start since moving in, and I am hoping to talk Jason into replacing the linoleum in the kitchen with ceramic tile.
I went in to work this past week for a meeting that my bosses boss insisted i be at. It was a “2007 strategic planning meeting”. A complete waste of my time, but i did participate in happy hour afterwards and managed to stroll in at around 11:30pm. Which was great fun in theory until about 1:30 AM when Riley woke up. If that wasn’t enough to keep me from EVER going out without an overnight baby sitter again, i don’t know what would be. It was a rough morning.
I hope everyone has a very merry christmas and gets to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones!
