i don’t have much new to write, but i feel compelled to update as i am wasting the last 20 minutes of my work day.  what i DO need to do is learn how to post pictures, we have over 500 of Riley and if you notice, i have a total of 3 on my site.  I am just not that good at keeping up on this stuff.

I am moving my horse on Saturday and have also found a former riding buddy to ride him for me in hopes that he will stay in better shape.  I can’t wait to get back in lessons.  I have decided to change my riding focus a little to the discipline of eventing.  I won’t bore you with the details, but lets just say in the yahoo group i read, someone just got into a serious accident.  In doing a little research i discovered things such as “2 horses had to be euthanized”  “Riders in critical condition recovering in hospital” “keeping him under anesthesia due to the amount of pain he will be in when he wakes up”  I have been second guessing myself about this decision a lot, but promise to buy the $400 titanium helmet and keep things to the novice levels!  Although i tend to get a thrill out of the competition, so who knows how strong my resolve will be.

On the baby front, Riley has started reaching out for me when I am near which just melts my heart.  He has been sick so we have been spending a lot of time together in the clinic.  If you ever have the opportunity to see a baby get a chest x ray- avoid it at all costs, it is the sadest thing i have ever seen.  We have made the trasition from swaddling to just sleeping unwrapped.  So far, so good…he goes to sleep pretty easily at night so we can’t complain, now if we can just get him to stay asleep.  We have our occasional stretches of 7 or 8 hours, but its almost worse when they are only every once in awhile, it tends to get your hopes up!
