yesterday i took Calvin out on a Cross Country course.  It was the first time for both of us.  What a great time!!  there is still that lingering fear that when we jump something, if we hit it, it isn’t going to fall down, and could send us somersaulting through the air and crashing to the ground. 

Granted, i didn’t do anything crazy yesterday and Calvin was AWESOME!  I think i am addicted.  I had to keep reminding myself that we have been working on rebuilding his confidence in lessons, and jumps over 2′3″ wouldn’t be a good idea, so everything was pretty tame.  Dualley his new buddy at the barn helped him stay calm and we got over everything we attempted without much fuss.  I am hoping to get out on a course a couple more times this year for schooling and maybe at the end of the summer i can make it to an event.
